From the historical significance of writing to joining it all up, the programme aims to prove that the pen can be mightier than the keyboard.

Take love letters. "I was once in love and this woman wrote to me every day. Beautiful letters full of insightful love.... Maybe I should have written back, hey? But I couldn't could I! Because my handwriting was so appalling!".

And there's more than just a sad love story employed to get people to pick up that lonely pen...
